Mutsy Easy Grow Adjustable Baby Highchair w/ Tray & Bumper Bar Reviews:
Like the reviewer above, I really wanted to like this chair.

It assembled quickly and seemed sturdy enough. The footprint on the floor was much larger than I expected, but it was probably about the same size as most high chairs. (Later, if you were using this as a regular chair, it would seem too large.) I got the orange and it looked pretty slick.

The chair arrived without the seat insert, but customer service at Mutsy was quick in sending out the part. Without the infant seat reducer, my son (6 months) slipped and slid around a lot. Once the child seat arrived it was a better.

The manufacturer states the chair is designed so you just slide the child in without removing the tray. Sounds good. Not so much with a wiggly 6 month old. I needed to reach up from underneath and try to guide his legs in, while trying to hold him from above as he locked his knees straight. This all might have gotten easier with some practice, but it was too much of a struggle and I started wondering what kids they managed to “just slip in” during design testing.

really really want to love this chair, it just looks so cool – modern and retro at the same time. It was fairly easy to assemble and is pretty easy to use – the only thing I seemed to have a hard time with was the straps and the buckle. When assembling it’s not terribly obvious how the straps should go, even with the one picture that is in the instruction book. After a while it became clear that there really is only one way the straps can go, and it just looks kind of lame, they just hang there from the back of the seat down near where the baby’s butt goes. Once my daughter is buckled into the seat it works well – she sits really well and seems to like the chair. What I find to be a real pain in the rear is being able to buckle and unbuckle the straps – the knuckle-head who designed the straps placed the buckling part right between the edge of the tray/bar and the baby’s belly. There just isn’t a lot of room to get your fingers in there to buckle and unbuckle – especially if you have a squirmy messy baby in there. My daughter is so small that she has to use the booster seat that comes with the chair so she can fit properly – maybe once she doesn’t need the booster seat in the chair anymore it will be easier to access the buckle area. If the buckling section had been designed better I would definitely give this chair 4 stars and possibly even 5 considering it’s a chair that ‘grows’ with your child and can be used for many years (and for this price I would hope so!).
